“Among all human pursuits, the pursuit of wisdom is more perfect, more noble, more useful, and more full of joy.” ~ St. Thomas Aquinas, Summa Contra Gentiles, Book 1, Chapter 2
*Nota Bene: K-6th Grade Booklists require one History textbook to accompany the Cycle. We have provided the History textbook suggestions from which you may choose below.
History Textbooks to Choose From
The above K-6th Grade Book Lists reference the necessity of choosing at least one history text from the options of the online suite. Below you may find a list of those books per cycle. Though we reference all of these texts in our history curriculum, you are not required to have all of them. We recommend you choose a text that can be used by the whole family for years to come as your first purchase. You may wish to add to your history library as the years continue.
“The teacher materials available online greatly reduce the amount of time needed in preparation for class each week. Often there are reading selections and activities to print directly from the site. The teacher prep time can be used reviewing these materials in preparation for presenting them to the class, as opposed to spending hours looking for appropriate content on the internet.” ~ Teacher
“It’s a huge help to have lesson ideas laid out for you. I no longer have to spend hours on the Internet searching ideas for my children’s lessons, unless I want to. It is a huge time saver. I like having a choice of ideas to chose from. Variety is a wonderful tool when teaching multiple students.” ~ Teacher
“I enjoy the classroom setting because the children learn to work together. It introduces the children to different personalities and how to deal with that. I enjoy music because I have no music talent to teach my children. Science is also important. We always seem to forget about it at home.” ~ Parent
